Transnational Access projects (Call 1)
The first of two Transnational Access Funding Calls, the “Regional Lighthouse Access Call”, closed on January 20th, 2025.
Following a robust evaluation phase (Jan-May 2025), eleven projects were funded. These were selected based on the scientific excellence and logistical feasibility of the proposals.
Research vessels proved to be the most popular infrastructures requested in Funding Call 1, with the majority of proposals focusing on the Atlantic-Arctic Mission lighthouse area. You can follow the progress of the projects and data collection efforts in the AQUARIUS Dataflow Dashboard.
Transnational Access projects (Call 2)
The first of two Transnational Access Funding Calls, the “Regional Lighthouse Access Call”, closed on January 20th, 2025.
The second AQUARIUS Funding Call, “Marine and Freshwater Infrastructure Access” was open from 2 September 2025 – 28 October 2025. In total, 42 applications were received from teams spanning 17 countries and 11 disciplines. Following a robust evaluation phase (Jan-March 2026), the successful projects were selected based on the scientific excellence and logistical feasibility of the proposals. Further details will follow as more information on the successful projects becomes available.
