The second AQUARIUS call, the “Super-integrated Lighthouse Call” will be responsive and shaped by the outcomes of the first call. It will focus on new emerging issues, themes not adequately covered in Call 1, or developments within the EU Mission Ocean.

Call 2 is expected to focus more on the key challenges identified for call 1 that affect more than one of the lighthouse regions. This approach will ensure that the Super-integrated Lighthouse Call is even more flexible than Call 1 in terms of cross-cutting topics and regions and can respond to the evolving needs and priorities of the research community and stakeholders.
