Transnational Access Call 1

The first of two Transnational Access Funding Calls, the “Regional Lighthouse Access Call”, closed on January 20th, 2025.

A total of 17 project proposals passed initial eligibility checks. These proposals spanned all the Mission Lighthouse Areas, a variety of scientific disciplines and represented a good mixture of research infrastructure types, with 26 of our 57 research infrastructures selected.

Following a robust evaluation phase, (Jan-May, 2025) we are now in the process of finalising contracts with the successful projects. These were selected based on scientific excellence and logistical feasibility of the proposals. A total of 298 days of access have currently been granted and eleven research infrastructures have been recommended for funding.

Research vessels proved to be the most popular infrastructures requested in Call 1, with the majority of proposals focusing on the Atlantic-Arctic lighthouse area.

In the coming months we will be rolling out the successful projects and you will be able to follow their progress and data collection efforts in the upcoming AQUARIUS Dataflow Dashboard.

Meet the projects! (More information coming soon)
