A moored grid with 5 x 50m circumference circular fish pens, 9 x 4 m sentinel pens for small scale studies. A low trophic grid of 780 m of longlines for seaweed cultivation and suspended structures for shellfish studies.

The site offers the ability to perform pilot scale IMTA trials, investigate new cultivation methods for low trophic species and trial new technologies (e.g. desalination, closed containment, sensors) in a field environment.

General Information
Lehanagh Pool is a 23.3 hectare aquaculture research site in Bertraghboy Bay, containing a moored grid with 5 x 50 m circumference circular fish pens in addition to a low trophic grid with capacity for 780 m of seaweed longlines and suspended structures for the cultivation of shellfish.
