The AQUARIUS team travelled to Vienna last week for the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU). With more than 20,000 scientists attending from around the world, it was the ideal opportunity to launch the information campaign for the second AQUARIUS funding call for access to research infrastructure.
The AQUARIUS presence at the event included a shared booth in the exhibition centre with our sister project POLARIN, which provides transnational access to research stations and other research infrastructures in polar regions. The booth attracted hundreds of visitors, highlighting strong interest in the project. AQUARIUS also hosted a poster session led by the coordination team, Aodhan Fitzgerald and Bernadette Ni Chonghale, which drew engaged participants eager to learn about the wide range of aquatic research infrastructures available across Europe and how AQUARIUS enables free access to them.
Project partner ENVRI organised a session focused on promoting collaboration between environmental research infrastructures and industry. It featured several success stories that provided inspiration for us to build on to attract more industry applicants as we countdown to the call opening in September 2025.
Stay tuned for more updates.
